Small balls of wheat flour dough, baked in tandoor are called Bati. In Rajasthan Dal-Bati-Churma is very famous dish which are made by different ways. You can make this dish at any occasion, any festival. In this video you will see a simple and easy method of making Bati in Gas Tandoor. Before you make Bati, you should know that it is mainly served with Dal, Besan curry, Besan Gatte, Lahsun Mirch chatni, Aalo pyaz sabji, Keri pickle and for a very different taste Boora. Bati with Dal – a traditional recipe of Rajasthan
Wheat flour- 3 bowl
Salt – 1 tsp
Sweet soda – ¼ tsp
Fresh cream – 2 tbsp
Water – to make dough
Put all the ingredients ( except water ) in a flat plate. Mix all and make a medium dough with the help of water. Cover with another plate or bowl and keep it so atleast for 20 minutes. After that neat the dough by adding little ghee. Make small equal balls of this dough, and put these in a preheated bati oven( gas tandoor) at high flame,cover it but Continuously check the batis. When a outer cover is formed around batis, medium or low the flame. Bake batis till golden brown colour. It takes about 20-25 minutes, depends upon the size of batis. Take out them and dip in hot ghee.Squeeze and put in a bowl. Delicious, crispy Bati is ready to serve. Serve these with Dal, Besan curry, Besan Gatte, Lahsun Mirch chatni, Aalo pyaz sabji, Keri pickle and for a very different taste Boora. 1.You can add ghee for moyan instead of fresh cream.
2.Ajwain can be added to dough for a different taste.
3.Usually Bati is make with wheat flour but we can add little besan to it.
