Chatni Of Green Chanas(chickpea),hot and spicy traditional chatni
For 5-6 persons
Ingredients:
Green chanas- 250 gms
Onion- 4
Tomato- 3
Green chillie- 4
Garlic- 15 -20 cloves
Oil- 5-6 tbsp
Jeera(cumin seeds )- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Red chillie powder- 1 tsp
Salt – 1 ½ tsp or according to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Wash chanas and make a paste ( coarsely ) with half glass of water , in a mixer. Peel onion, and make a paste of onion, tomato, garlic and chillies. Heat oil in a kadahi or a pan, put jeera than turmeric powder and crushed above paste of onion tomatoes. Put chillie powder , salt , mix and cover to cook about 15 min. on low flame. Now add crushed paste of chanas , mix and cover. Cook for 15 – 20 min. chatni is ready. Garnish with Coriander leaves.
Tips:
1.Chana soaks water , so if chatni becomes thick, add little water in it.
2.Best with (wheat , bajra , makka )Roti.
