In this short video you will see the easy method of cooking the Chatpate Chane. The method is so fast and easy that anybody can make these delicious and ofcourse healthy chane. The main ingredient is Black Chana ( chickpeas) also called Bengal gram, is rich in dietary fiber and great source of nutrients, protein, carbohydrates, calcium, potassium, manganese, copper etc.. Black chane( Bengal gram)- 1 bowl , overnight soaked
Garlic – 8-10 cloves , crushed
Green chilli – 1 chopped
Lemon – juice of 2 lemon
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 ½ tsp
Corriander powder – 2 tsp
Oil – 3-4 tbsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Heeng( Asafotida )- 1/8 tsp
Aamchur ( raw mango powder ) – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/8 tsp ( optional )
Water – 1 glass
At serving time – onion, tomato, green chilli
Take overnight soaked chane . In a bowl take crushed Garlic, chopped Green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, corriander powder and make masala paste with little water. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, season with cumin seeds and heeng. Add above masala paste in it on low flame and cook for a while. Add soaked chanas, water, aamchur and garam masala. Stir and cover the cooker and take 5-6 pressure. Add lemon juice. Chatpate chane is ready, serve with onion, tomato, green chilli.
- Garam masala is optional.
- If there is extra water in chanas, and you want to make dry chanas,to get dry chanas— remove the whistle of lid, cover the cooker and cook on high flame. Extra water will evaporated.
- Very good for breakfast.
- Very good tiffin vegetable.
