Shahi Tukri is a perfect sweet dish of Bread and Milk. It is easy to make, and can be serve to all type of guests in any weather. All the ingredients are easily available, and nutritious. As Milk is the best drink and very important for a healthy lifestyle. It is great source of vitamins, calcium, protien and nutrients. Bread also provides vitamins, calcium, protein, iron. In this recipe we are making rabdi of milk. When fried bread croutons and rabdi is mixed together with lots of dryfruits, creates an amazing taste. Bread slices – 8-10
Milk – 1 litre
Sugar – 11-12 tbsp
Cornflour – 3 tsp
Fresh cream – ½ bowl
Dry fruits – cashew nuts, melon seeds, almond and cherry to garnish
Elaichi powder( cardmom ) – ¼ tsp
Keep milk to boil on gas.Cut the edges of bread, cut bread in to four square pieces. Heat oil in a kadahi, fry these bread pieces. Arrange these bread croutons in a flat plate. Milk starts boiling, add fresh cream,let the milk boil on low flame. In a small bowl take ¼ – ½ cup of cold( normal ) milk, add cornflour to it. Mix well and pour this in boiling milk with continuous stirring. Add sugar to milk. When the milk gets thick, add elaichi powder and off the gas. Let it cool. Pour it over bread croutons. Garnish with chopped dry fruits. Keep in fridge to set atleast for 2-3 hrs.. Serve chilled.
1.We can add saffron, colour to it.
2.We can add sweetless mawa and fresh cream in combination.
3.Boil milk in kadahi to thicken fast.
4.Add sugar after switch off the gas for fast thickening of milk.
